Questions
Straight answers
Does it need an internet connection?
No. Speech recognition, the tutor and all grading run on your device with Apple's on-device models. Practice works on a plane, and your audio never leaves the phone.
Is the certificate an IELTS or TOEFL qualification?
No, and we won't pretend otherwise. The GEP certificate records an unsupervised, on-device assessment aligned to CEFR A1–C2. It is not proctored and has no affiliation with IELTS, TOEFL or Cambridge. The mock tests are preparation tools that estimate a band so you know where you stand.
Can an employer check my certificate?
Yes, if you register it. Registered certificates get a public page showing the level, skills and status. Registration is optional, off by default, and you choose whether the page shows your full name or initials.
British or American English?
British throughout — en-GB spelling, British pronunciation targets and a British tutor voice. Regional variants are treated as variants, never marked as mistakes.
What do I get for free?
A daily conversation session, the level check, grammar lessons, vocabulary, reading, listening and your progress dashboard. Premium adds unlimited conversation, exam mocks, writing marking, the full pronunciation lab, certificates and the complete content library.
How do I cancel?
Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions, two taps. You keep Premium until the period you've paid for ends.
What data do you collect?
None. There is no account, no analytics SDK and no server that sees your practice. The only thing that ever leaves your device is a certificate you explicitly choose to register. Read the privacy policy.
Which devices are supported?
iPhone and iPad on iOS 26 or later, with Apple Intelligence enabled. A Mac version is in progress.
